We recently traded cars and this one is silver. I had to read the manual to learn how to drive a silver car… Actually, I had to read the manual to figure out how to operate all the bells and whistles. We both did. My husband was visiting with his 92 year old mother the other evening. At the end of the phone call I heard him say that yes, he would give me a hug from her. I knew when he hung up that he’d already forgotten, so I decided to have some fun with it. I let enough time pass to know he’d never think of it again. Our recliners are side by side (so that we can hear one another) and I said, “ From this end of the conversation I think your mother asked you to give me a hug.” He looked surprised and replied, “Oh. Yes she did.” Then my tired, 73 year old husband looked at me with pleading eyes and said, “At our age we need to conserve our strength. The next time we’re both standing up I’ll give you a hug.”
One thing you develop with age is a sense of humor!
